Miso is a traditional Japanese seasoning produced by fermenting soybeans, rice and salt. Fermented foods are well known for their many health beneﬁts. Miso is high in protein, rich in vitamins and minerals, and promotes good digestion. HAIKU Miso, in its unique dry granulated form, oﬀers all the same attributes of traditional miso paste, but gives easy access to this wonderful seasoning. It can replace salt in many recipes and adds a unique taste called “umami”, often referred to as the 5th ﬂavour.
How to use HAIKU Miso:
• A traditional miso soup can be made simply by adding 1 1⁄4 teaspoon of miso into 1 cup (250 ml) of boiling water.
• It can be sprinkled on your favourite ﬁsh, meat, vegetable, pasta or salad to bring wonderful ﬂavours to your dish.
• It can also be incorporated in your marinade, dressing, dip, sauce or stir-fry.
